A group of 3 couples (middle-aged, newly empty-nesters) needed a place to stage a couple of days of activities on our "anniversary" vacation. This was PERFECT. Clean, tidy, new carpet, convenient to get to, gracious host, easy communication, plenty of privacy, great bathrooms, totally accurate description and pictures on the VRBO site, felt "out of town" but a very easy walk to food, snacks, points of interest, and tourist shopping (see below). 60 minutes to Zion/Bryce, under 90 minutes to the GC North Rim (a drive we made and loved with a "must-do" stop at Jacob Lake for cookies) and a nice 75 minute drive through Grand Staircase Escalante (take a 90-minute break mid-drive to see the Toadstools site!) to Page/Antelope Canyon/Horseshoe Bend. Staying in any one of these individual places probably precludes getting to any of the rest during a single trip, so Kanab was great and this property immediately helps you unwind and clean-up after a day on the trail. BEST PERKS: There are things that property owners just don't/can't mention in their listing that sometimes end up being hidden gems. Here's a few from our group: We're from Indiana, so the Southwest is new to us...but we live in the country and are reasonably adventurous and fit and open-minded about trying new things. Honestly, as much as we loved Grand Canyon and Antelope Canyon, we could have easily stayed in this property and not left the vicinity of Kanab for these 3 days and 2 nights. Eclectic restaurants, a fun soda fountain/pharmacy, a very nice (albeit "touristy) rock shop and a free "Little Hollywood" site of Western movie set cast-offs (don't set your expectations too high, but it was neat and free) all within an easy walk of the property. The larger town has a very nice Bureau of Land Management office as you head into Grand Staircase, several other upscale eating establishments we didn't have the time to try, a couple of very nice grocery stores and the whole place is walk-able, clean and really trying to make itself into a destination - and it is succeeding!! Final pearls: The owners have a red binder of "all-things-Kanab": On a whim my wife and I headed out one morning to see the dinosaur footprints on a nearby ridge - better than those at Antelope for sure - and the rest of our group demanded we take them the next morning! ALSO:The pull-off for Hog Canyon 3 min. north of the property is the best "dark sky" site I've ever been at and as an astro-geek I've seen lots!
Wow! We are so, so very delighted with your kind words but more importantly, that you had such a good time here in our town/area and were able to do and see so many things. Please come back and visit us anytime!
WOW, we were totally impressed with your Creekside Casa. Not only was it beautiful and comfortable we felt like we were home. You provided even more than we expected and would stay there again in a minute. Thanks, Larry we really had a great time traveling to the Grand Canyon, Bryce National Park and on the way home we visited Zion National Park. Highly recommend this wonderful home. Very nice house. Clean, well appointed, and stocked with extras travelers need. Only 1 little problem: the toilet in master bath is a little hard to flush. Everything else is great. Things are labeled nicely and instructions and information from owner are clear and thorough. Good location for day trips to Bryce Canyon, Zion, and North Rim
Lovely home, excellent location
My cat and I stayed in the lovely Creekside Casa for five weeks and could not have been more pleased! The home is tastefully furnished, decorated, and well equipped, with no detail going un-noticed. Excellent wi-fi connection! The in-town location is convenient to everything you need (restaurants, grocery stores, health food store, gas stations, even a health club!). So many popular tourist attractions are within easy driving distance, including Best Friends Animal Society. And since this home is pet-friendly, you can bring your own well-behaved pet(s), or take a sanctuary pet home for a sleepover! I would definitely stay at Creekside Casa again, and recommend to my friends!
